I currently spend most of my professional energy on making it harder for bioterrorists — and easier for scientists — to buy synthetic DNA online. It's insane to me that we haven't solved this yet, but I believe we can get it done in the next few years. I'd consider this a small but meaningful step towards making pandemics history.
